Switzerland, a great place for my season opener on the European LPGA Tour

Yesterday was a long day of playing and practicing. It felt good to get a practice session in since I took a few days off to get over my jet lag, and to try to get rid of my stomach flu. Unfortunately, in the afternoon it came back. It is discouraging because I don't have much of an appetite and there are so many great ristorantes and pizzerias in Losone that I would love to try.

Switzerland greener than Oregon?

Yesterday after waking up at 5am, I came by my site, replied to a few comments made on my previous post, and still had plenty of time before the range was going to open. So I slipped into my workout gear, slid a fresh set of double-padded insoles into my Puma catchers to protect my joints and heels, and took off on what turned out to be an awesome hike. I was feeling better. I discovered the trail the day before when I was driving around, scoping out the town.

There was about a 1 and a half mile main trail that was graveled but several trails that veered off into the mountains. I just randomly picked a trail that had a sign that said Mount Verita. About an hour later, I found myself at the top of the hill. I could look down and see all of Lake Maggiore (click for pictures) and several towns that surrounded it in this beautiful valley. I had a 360 degree view and was surrounded by the largest and greenest mountains that I have ever seen. It was spectacular! I thought Oregon was green but this is something else!

So far Switzerland has been great. It is relaxing to be away from the commotion of Los Angeles. The people here are very nice and even though there is a language barrier, everyone tries their best to help each other out. By the way, it is very hard being a "driving" tourist around here with all the locals buzzing around these narrow streets and fast little cars.

A silky Smooth 3-wood from Cleveland Golf

Everyone here at the LET (Ladies European Tour, or European LPGA) is very helpful and professional. The golf course here at Golf Gerre Losone is beautiful and in great shape. Even though you need to be fairly straight off the tee box, I feel that there are several holes that I can take advantage of because of my length. And I know I will because Cleveland Golf delivered me a killer fairway wood that feels so silky smooth when you attack those par-5 greens.

I am excited and ready to start playing Thursday and to get off to a great start here at the Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open. I found that during my practice rounds I was starting to get very mechanical and that's just not my game; so my goal this week is to just go out there, play golf, not worry about anything, or try to think too much, and just be target oriented.

Fairways and Greens, in peace.

Megan,

I am not involved in that part of the business, but I know that Jim and Tim are stand up guys with good reputations. I hope that everything gets worked out.

Again, good luck with everything, and keep up the great site.

Fred W. - Hi. Thanks for the compliment. isn't your former agency (William Morris Agency) the one that represents Michelle Wie? Ross Berlin is the name of the agent, I think.

To think that I've known you all along, and you & WMA decided to rep Michelle Wie over me??? go figure.
:)

Jason from TMAG - I hope so too.
Throughout the process they seemed ok, but my sponsor is a hard charging senior guy who runs the show at all his companies; so I think he just looses patience when people spin his wheels or procrastinate...
I guess it's all a matter of style.
Thanks for the good wishes, & keep in touch.

Cheers,
Meg

hi megan,
thanks for answering my questions. it's got to be hard to make it on any tour with so many good golfers out there. you're fighting the good fight.
my wife and i live outside of toledo ohio and we think we are going to the lima ohio event. it's not too far away from us.

on another note, i have had a nothing but great dealings with taylormade. i've broke a few r7 425 tp drivers in the last few months and the tour dept, the r&d dept along with greg seifert from the custom dept hooked me up with product to help me out.
they really worked hard to help me. great people. if you are thinking about moving over to them, i can really say that the are awesome...

anyways have a good first round and hit em' straight.

Hi Megan, you're a great golfer and a beautiful woman. What a coincidence - that's what I write about in my blog, Golf Babes! :-) .
It is located at http://golf-babes.blogspot.com. Nothing fancy, but it's fun.

The FinaCapital ad is a great shot - gorgeous eyes! The one of you reclining casually on the sofa is another nice one. And may I just say ... you look sexy in jeans. And the Mustang shot. Sexy girl, sexy car. A great combination :-)

Megan,

I've posted a jeans/car pic of you on my blog http://golf-babes.blogspot.com/. You can see it on the homepage. I also added your site to the links in the sidebar.

I had to laugh reading your blog about windy (and hot) Texas golf. I'm a lifelong Texan. Grew up on the coast, where 20-25 mph days were the norm. Have many stories of hitting driver on par-3s and coming up short (and not because I stink -- was scoring in the upper 70s back then). Now, I live in Central Texas and going back to the coast, it's a nightmare to play in that wind!

Too bad I didn't know about you a couple months ago. I could've driven down to McAllen and cheered you on. Oh well - maybe next year, when you're on the LPGA and the tour has added a stop in San Antonio (as is rumored).
